PostSubject: Eki versus Ryusaki [TO THE DEATH... NAH, ORPGDM]   Thu 02 Jun 2011, 5:37 pm

[Screw the dialogue, we're gonna jump right into this.]

Eki ducked, twisted, dodged. Running full sprint throughout the forest, he made his path as hard to follow as possible, Konoha nin on his ass like white on rice. Moving quickly, he rebounded off several large trees, then hit the ground moving, continuing to serpentine throughout the area. He was definitely at a disadvantage, Konoha knew this area way better then he did. Reaching a clearing, the Desert Cobra thought he was in the clear. He couldn't have been more wrong.

"Sup Ryusaki!"

Not even daring to stop, Eki leaped into the air his hands reaching into opposite sleeves as he crossed his arms. Then quickly spreading his arms wide, senbon rained down at the target, an even dozen of them. Their pattern was scattered for coverage, must aiming to clutter about the face neck and chest of his target. Eki didn't have time, nor did he want to risk watching if they stuck however. Reaching upwards, Eki grabbed the nearest branch he could, mid-air, and swung. With his forward momentum, it carried him into a backflip, but rather then land on the branch, he let go instead, letting aerodynamics do their trick. Landing on another branch, he continued to hop, away from Ryusaki. He was sure that the Hokage was going to be pissed, and direct conflict wasn't really Eki's thing. If need be, they'd do battle, but it would be on Eki's terms.

So this person figured that they could simply come and go as they pleased. Well that would be their greatest mistake. As the figure ran past Ryusaki and jumped into the air he had already figured out what he was going to do. However when their hands went into their sleeves he had to prepare for the worst. His initial thought was a jutsu of some sort. When the senbon became clear, he reacted with speed. Wind and fire surrounded his body as chakra was applied. In an instant he was in the air, a trail of fire behind him. The senbon possibly went towards him, but the wind shield would deflect them with ease. With his opponent still in the air and wasting no time, Ryusaki launched a pressure wave at pointblank range. His hands having been ready to act before he left the ground. His reaction time as a Kage level shinobi and a master taijutsu user would come in handy here. He moved as soon as he saw the glint of the first senbon. By the time he reached there being generous, the opponents hands should have just finished spreading apart or just on their way back. So was the speed jutsu of his old sensei Kostas.

PostSubject: Re: Eki versus Ryusaki [TO THE DEATH... NAH, ORPGDM]   Thu 02 Jun 2011, 7:21 pm

"Uh oh."

Eki was sent sprawling, his body not only took the direct hit from the pressure wave, which briefly ignited him, but he was sent crashing through the branches above him. For a moment, the world seemed to pause just as he cleared the treeline, the sun shining bright unto the clouds with a cascading effect. Then he started to come back down.

While it was a powerful blow, Eki was far from being out of the game. He did realize that he would have to mind his distance now however, and perhaps only close in for the kill after his opponent ran out of chakra. That or perform some basic assassin trickery. As he fell, Eki formed handseals, when he finished, nearly a few feet off the ground, his body disappeared from view. The leaves on the ground beneath him, that were in his trajectory did not stir and it seemed that he had simply vanished.

In truth, Eki did hit the ground, hard. And muttering under his breath, he forced himself back to a sitting position. It was an ANBU hiding technique, used to conceal oneself from view, eliminate any sound they may make, and even go so far as to use minor genjutsu to eliminate traces of their existence, like impressions on the ground. Moving slowly as to not break the techniques protective embrace, Eki clambered to his knees, dragging himself to a nearby tree where he'd be out of Ryusaki's direct line of sight, not that it really mattered, he just felt safer. His entire body was in pain at the moment, luckily, it was only skin deep. Forming more hand seals from within his bubble of illusion, Eki's palms glowed green, they too being invisible to the eye while wihin the barrier. Closing his eyes and concentrating, he passed them over himself, and with the second degree burns having yet to bubble and blister, he found the pain was relieved immediately. Fire was a finicky thing, while it caused plenty of pain, unless you were to literally disintegrate an opponent with it, it didn't cause very much actual damage, just pain, the healing hands technique was more then enough to deal with that.

Breathing heavily, Eki peered around the tree, catching sight of Ryusaki, still a fiery blaze. Calculating, Eki attempted to derive how long it would take for the technique to consume enough chakra to dissipate. He figured a long time, as it was a safer bet then soon when dealing with a kage. So now it came down to intelligence rather then power. So be it. Standing, Eki set down the mid size basket tied to his waist on the ground, ensuring it was still out of Ryusaki's line of sight before moving away from it. Moving slowly, Eki circled the clearing, setting down plenty of ninja wire, exploding tags, and trap triggered shuriken launchers. As he went, he continually formed hand seals, using a similar version of the technique he used on himself at the moment, to keep the traps hidden as he laid them. Finally finishing full circle, Eki arrived back at the area in which he had fallen, and decided to make it worthwhile. He set up a plethora of ninja wire, a spiderweb's worth, and connected the ends to several points, and triggering a mass of exploding tags down near the center of it.

Now it was time for some fun. Ryusaki was still in the center of the clearing. Eki assumed he was biding his time, waiting for a sign of his opponent. Or perhaps he was confused, or angry. Regardless, he was still there. Moving away from the main trap, Eki picked up a rock a pebble from behind another tree as he went, knowing full well that had he grabbed something within Ryu's line of sight, the kage would have caught on. Standing far enough away. Eki used the trap concealment technique one more time on the pebble. Then threw it towards the main trap. As it hit, it definitely made noise. With his fingers crossed, Eki hoped Ryu would react.

The attack seemed to be a direct hit. Fair enough when you think about it. The man barely had any time to react. Ryu's pressure wave hit him at near point blank range. He was pretty lucky out of fear for explosive backlash the Hokage used less pressure than normal. Most times that would run a person through and there isn't a single thing that they could do about it. As the man fell, the Kage quickly went back to the ground as well. As Ryusaki fell he tried to keep an eye on his opponent. Though at times that tends to be far harder said than done. Regardless, he saw the mans hands raise slightly before falling behind the tree line. Though given what he had just experienced he figured it was probably to brace himself for the fall. When Ryusaki went into the clearing he looked around for his opponent. Unknowing to him somewhat healing himself. After not seeing him for a little bit and no motion the Hokage figured the hard way. He was going to have to deal with this offensively. However his opponent had been in the forest for quite some time. There was only one option that he had. Creating a string of handseals, the Hokage, allowed an invisble barrier to come out around him. All a decent area in length The fire around the Kage's body dissipated as he made a few more strings before slamming his hand on the ground. The line spread as the Hokage's sensory dog, appeared in front of him. "Find the closest person too me and flush him out." Ryusaki knew it was only those two for a little while, so this should be easy, he also whispered, nothing could be heard. It took only a second for her to flush out the target. Being a sensory dog, not only that but the jutsu around him, though Ryusaki had no knowledge of it at the time, didn't get rid of smell. The dog quickly sniffed out the shinbobi and jumped back towards Ryusaki. All the while the man would be setting his traps just to have them fall. A torrent of water was released from the dogs mouth. Knocking over trees if the man didn't move fast it would run him over too. Being so close with the volume and speed of the wave his option would only be to land on top of it. His traps, the tree's surrounding them, would either be swept away, or buried under several metric tons of water. Along with a few trees and the like. Sanding in the center of the new lake, Ryusaki and his dog stood at the ready as she sniffed him out one more time. Pointing in his directing the Kage quickly noticed he didn't see anything. "I smell him, just wave your attacks and I'll begin to pinpoint." Reaching into his pouch quickly, the Kage launched a torrent of Kunai with flashbangs and explosive tags at the man. Atleast seven of each, they were spread out for max area, and the dog was tracking his smell as well.

A dog?

Eki watched on.. Then panicked. He began to back away, but it was too late, a torrent of water came rushing for him. As the traps were pulled down they trigger the exploding tags, and for a moment, the entire forest was a tirade of noise. Eki took the only route available to him at the time. Rebounding off a tree, he found himself on top of the water as it settled, his concealment jutsu still keeping him hidden, but that dog was about to be a menace. Or perhaps not. Seeing the animals snout point in his direction, Eki clasped his feet together, and stopped flowing chakra to them. As such, he sank below the water's surface, just as the kunai passed by over head. By concentrating, the ninjutsu portion to his technique eliminated any ripples, and by the time Eki was safe under water, he dropped preserving his chakra for when he'd need it. For now, he was out of sight, and was fully aware that by being submerged his scent would be masked. Besides, Ryusaki wasn't the only one with a pet.

A snake has a single lung, and it runs the length of their entire body. As such, they can hold their breath for copious amounts of time, being able to remain submerged for minutes on end. With her thermal tracking still in place, it was at this point that from her basket, which Eki had left aside earlier, that Shinju decided to strike. Bursting from the water, she quickly struck in an attempt to catch the dog while he still attempted to relocate the scent. If she could pull it off, she would quickly drive her fangs into place to disperse the summon before diving back into the water.

Ryusaki might have been quick. His dog might have been quick. Shinju was alot faster. Eki minded his time meanwhile, fully aware that the more jutsus Ryusaki used over the amount he himself used, the better. He was fully aware that based on his speed, Ryusaki would be a challenging taijutsu combatant, but was also fully aware that as soon as Eki got in close, the battle was about more then just taijutsu.

The dogs nose was powerful and it indeed was a tracker. However, in the instant the shinobi let, his chakra fall below the surface of the water. The dog noticed his scent disappear. However with her advanced nose she was able to smell the sudden drop. Still there was no way to know for sure. "Either he's using a technique to mask his scent or he went underwater." "No issue." At this moment an intrusion across Ryu's sensory bounds tripped. He quickly could tell where the snake was coming from and how big it was. But he didn't move quite as yet. But by the time it coiled back to come from the water, the Hokage already moved. Launching a fire blast at the snake as it was in the height of it's jump. With his careful timing the summon would be quickly charred and badly burned. Only possible because of his previous jutsu. His dog had also moved, hearing his motions ahead of time. With his reactions and early knowledge the snake had basically no chance. No chance, though as he shot that he once again slammed his hands on the water. Another puff of smoke appeared with yet another dog. As soon as the puff arrived, the hokage and his other summon would jump up. Quickly a shock would travel through the water. Knocking the air out of and badly hurting all caught on or in the water. With the person he was fighting, this would surely in some way flush them out.

All the air was knocked out of Eki's lungs, as such, he scrambled to the surface. Bursting through, the sound of Shinju's sporadic hissing confirmed she was injured as well. It as clear at this point that the Hokage held the ninjutsu advantage. It would be difficult to see if he could overcome it at this point, but he had to try, his life was on the line.

As Shinju dove back into the depths, Eki sputtered up water as he was sprawled out on it's surface, his chakra keeping him above water, yet he was no on his feet quite yet. Slipping a hand into his pocket, he gripped a small marble, and let it fall out into the lake, watching it sink below him. He wracked his mind, for techniques, for plans to conquer the clearly more powerful Kage before him. Eyes twisting upwards, he got sight of the man mid-air, his hound there too. Disadvantageous position.

"Dodge this."

His hand tucked away into his sleeve, it spent a moment there as Eki focused, a dull blue glimmering from under it. He then swung his arm, five senbon heading for the Hokage, another three aimed at his airborne dog.

( Short dun got alot of time)

As Ryu went into the air and his dog, shocked the newly formed ocean he looked up. If the man wasn't being hit there was nothing he could do. That was until, Karyuudo caught a whiff of the shinobi above water. It was roughly one second after he emerged. Now all that was needed was for the Hokage to keep up the pressure. "Shugosha use a continuous stream, kill him this time." This would be right before the senbon could be launched. That atleast is when the stream would hit the water again. The shock would stop the shinobi right in his tracks. Everything on or in the water, would be shocked, and continuously shocked. Eventually causing burns and well, this many volts going through your body isn't good. No matter who or what you are. To keep himself above the water, and his dog defending them from the senbon Ryu grabbed Karyuudo. As she swung two of her tails since they were so close. Knocking the senbon out of the air and taking a few. Just in case they were poisoned being sure non went in, just deflected. Using his jet technique, Ryu propelled them both a little bit into the air. Fire appearing below his feet as they had rereached the height of their jump. With that he launched a second pressure wave where his opponent's last location was. Moving would be nearly impossible while getting shocked, constantly to avoid the attack. This one was geared to kill and Shugosha wasn't letting up.

[Intercept]Shinju was there to aid, and would give her life for Eki any day of the week. That was her plan now. As Shugoshu attempted to charge the water again, Shinju acted as a grounding rod, latching herself onto a submerged tree and extending towards the surface, she was the nearest grounding point for the electricity, and the radius did not surpass her. Within moments she would be dead, but that's all Eki needed.

Still staring up at his senbon, Eki smiled. He hadn't spent that moment in his sleeves poisoning the tips, no, his senbon came naturally poisoned. He had spent that moment charging them with chakra. Knowing he had been on the ropes this time, the Desert Cobra hadn't planned on missing, and as Ryu made little attempt to get out of the way, and simply deflect the senbon, these would be on target.

As the dog's tails swung at the senbon, each senbon seemed to shift slightly in mid -air, and pick up speed. They only did so by about an inch, but it was an inch that mattered. The three that were aimed at the dog shot faster, at the last second, rotating so that the attempt to deflect them from the side would leave the dog struck by them. One however, was deflected masterfully, but only as Eki let it be so. It's new target was Shugosha, and with that dog focused with shocking Eki, and with Ryusaki and Karyuudo now practically ran through, he doubted anyone would notice as it sped towards the dog's forehead from above.

Now as far as the poison went, it was call Brugmansia, and was typically collected from the desert provinces. Upon injection, the inflicted become deluded and psychotic and lost motor function for a few minutes. Not only were these senbon highly dangerous, they were now mere moments from their hit spot, the Kage thinking he had deflected them. They were aimed very particularly, Eki being able to hit most small insects with a senbon from several hundred feet away. Spread as they were, Tianfu in the right arm would be struck along with Chize in the left. The point Taiyi was located in the abdomen, and it was where the third senbon was headed. The Jimen point was closer to the thigh area then anything, the fourth had a home. Finally, the fifth and last one, was headed for Ruzhong, a small precise spot over the left breast.

So the snake must have truly loved it's master. In an instant, doing something that Ryusaki had not foreseen, she blocked the lightning strike from passing, Her radius. Effectively protecting her master. Not only that but the senbon Karyudoo smacked away had shifted in mid air. Each changing icnhes off of their intended course. Now normally this would be a massive issue. Especially in mid air, However Karyuudo was Ryusaki's favored summon. She had been with him through thick and thin and had seen the same battles he had. She was a battle hardened dog with the skills to back it up. She also had multiple tails and effective control over them all. As the senbon changed direction, she would manipulate more tails and the ones moved very carefully to repeat the process. Knocking them as far as away as possible. Keeping both her and Ryusaki safe. Meanwhile, Shugosha not being stupid had realized what happened. This time he fired the stream of lightning beyond the snake and into the water. If the shinobi moved he would be picked up, if he stayed in the water he would be shocked to death.

[You failed to mention attempting to change the direction of the deflected senbon. As the three aimed at Karyuudo didn't actually change direction (yes, two of them changed rotation, but not direction) and you didn't mention her changing the way she hit those ones, rather just adding more tails in to deflect the ones that had shifted, this scores me both a killing blow on Shugosha (it'll just disperse him I believe, well, actually if he didn't see it coming I think it's a kill, it's been a while, I'll have to review summons again, oh well, ORPGDM anyways) as well as a poison piercing on Karyuudo. Said poison piercing I'll leave to you on whether it disperses her, or leaves her with the previously explained poison hit.]

Eki's attack succeeded, partially. The two summons were taken care of for the moment, but Ryusaki remained unscathed. With no more distractions, the desert cobra was now able to focus on his target, who had gained altitude, and released an attack similar to the first. With keen eyes, Eki recognized it and rolled, the air in the spot he had previously occupied popping into a fiery blaze. A moment later and it was gone, the count was now at seven or eight used jutsu for the Kage. Making a mental note, Eki calculated that if he could keep this up, the Kage would feasibly be out of expendable chakra with a few more jutsu, probably more when taking his reputation into account. At this pace, the man would have to resort to getting in close again eventually, and it would be then that Eki would be the victor.

Eyes locked on his target, the last of the Goryuu reached into a small pouch, his fingers fishing out a small vial. Quickly, the liquid within was poured down his throat, the ingredients containing the three stages of plant growth; seed, root and leaf, mixed together in a saffron salve. It was a tribute to Eki's past as a nomad in the Hotaru tribe, and would be what they called, the Elixir of Youth. Eki then did his best to stare his opponent directly in the eyes before closing his own. With a deep breath, the cobra stood, his stance spreading and his arms raising into a loose position. As he did so, his visage seemed to perk slightly, then darken. His ears and nose were taking in more of the world around him as the herb set in. He could hear the air shifting from the heat emanating from Ryusaki and smell the evaporating sweat off his own body. As his eyes snapped open, they were an evil and hollow yellow, the pupil focusing into a slit, which glared haughtily at the Kage above him. The entire sight was quite fearsome, as it not only seemed Eki was feeling quite revitalized, but that he had a very murderous intent to him. With that being done, the assassin began to rock, slowly back and forth, his body flowing through the motions of mantis style kung fu. He was ready to make his stand.
